Try these triangles

The practical assessment task Try these Triangles can be used to assess students' abilities to:

• use geometric instruments, such as rulers and protractors (or compasses) in construction
• classify triangles
• solve challenging problems.

The challenge questions at the end of the task probe for deep knowledge and understanding.

It would be useful to look at each question in the task and classify it according to the proficiency strands: Understanding, Fluency, Problem solving and Reasoning.
